Single Layer or Double Layer?

  • Single layer: A grooved silicone sheet. Litter collects in the channels, and you shake or fold it back into the box. Lower profile, less to clean, lighter to lift. Good for one tidy cat.
  • Double layer: A perforated top over a solid base. Granules drop through the top and are held in the cavity between the two layers, out of sight and out of paw's reach, until you open it out. This is the one to pick for a heavy scatterer or a multi-cat box.

Measure the width of your litter box entrance and pick a mat at least that wide, wider is better, because litter comes off over the first two steps.
