Bath water down the ear canal, the roar of a dryer six inches from the head, long ears dragging through the rinse. The PerriPaws Dog Ear Wrap is a neoprene band that holds both ears flat to the head and covers them while you work.

Measure around your dog’s head, over the ears and under the chin. Pick the size whose flat length is closest to that measurement, the neoprene stretches from there. Between sizes, size up.

Slide it on

Draw it back over both ears so they sit flat, keeping it clear of the eyes and nose. Close the strap under the chin.

Two fingers, then off

Two fingers should slide under the strap. Supervise throughout and take it off as soon as the bath or the dry is finished.

Care & Cleaning

How to keep it in good order, as the manufacturer states it.

After a bath

Rinse the shampoo out of it. Neoprene is closed-cell so nothing soaks in, but detergent left on the surface goes sticky.

Washing

Hand wash in cool water with a little mild soap. Do not machine wash it, the hook-and-loop strap picks up fur and lint in a drum and then stops gripping.

Drying

Lay it flat or hang it, away from direct heat. Neoprene does not like a radiator.

The strap

Pull the fur out of the hook-and-loop before it packs solid. A clogged strap is the reason a wrap starts slipping.

Storage

Flat rather than folded hard, so the ear pockets keep their shape.
