After a bath
Shake the mesh out and let it drip. The whole point of an open mesh is that it dries on its own. Do not fold it away wet.
Washing the mesh
Warm soapy water, rinse, air dry. Shampoo residue left in the weave goes sticky and then collects hair.

Wipe the stainless legs and joints dry, particularly where the tubes meet. Standing water in a folding joint is what eventually stiffens it.
