Pick a ball your dog cannot fit fully into their mouth. This is the one sizing decision that matters, and it matters more than the breed chart on most toy listings.

  • 2.8 in (7 cm) and 3.1 in (8 cm), toy breeds and puppies only
  • 3.5 in (8.8 cm) and 3.9 in (10 cm), small dogs
  • 4.3 in (11 cm) and 5.1 in (13 cm), medium dogs
  • 5.5 in (14 cm) and 5.9 in (15 cm), large dogs

If your dog is between two sizes, take the larger one. A ball that is slightly too big is an inconvenience; a ball that is slightly too small is a choking hazard.

Measurements are taken by hand and the manufacturer allows a small tolerance.
