Care & Cleaning

Washing

Cool machine wash, inside out, on a gentle cycle with similar colours. Velvet picks up lint from towels and fleece, so wash it apart from those.

Do not

Bleach it, or use fabric softener. Softener coats the pile and flattens the nap that makes velvet look like velvet.

Drying

Air dry flat or on a hanger. Heat is what makes a velour pile go shiny and matted, so keep it out of the tumble dryer.

Fur in the pocket

Lift it out with a lint roller or a rubber brush before washing, or it redistributes over the whole garment.

Ironing

If you must, use a cool iron on the reverse and never press the pile directly.
