  • Lightweight: Easy for cats to bat around.
  • Lots of styles: Rope tails, LED balls, plush covers and stripes.
  • Speed options: Rope-tail balls come with three speeds, and Smart versions add an automatic wake-up mode.

Choose Your Style

  • Rope Tail (3-Speed or Smart 3-Speed): A ball with a trailing rope in Red, Yellow, Green, Gray, Blue, Purple or Pink.
  • LED Balls: Vortex, Pumpkin or Space designs in Orange or Blue.
  • Plush Cover: A fuzzy cover with a pom-pom tail in Red, Green or Gray.
  • Striped: Horizontal or vertical stripes in Blue or Pink.

Functions vary by style, so check the option name before ordering.

Construction

Look closer at the tail.

    Light enough to bat

A soft cover over a light housing, so a cat can knock it about with a paw rather than having to shove it.

  • Close-up of the clear housing where the rope tail attaches

    Where the tail joins

The rope is anchored into the clear housing at the base, which is the part to check for wear before each session.

  • Close-up of the braided rope tail

    The rope tail

A trailing braid that drags behind the ball. It is the movement of the tail, not the ball, that most cats actually go for.

PerriPaws vs Others

A tail worth catching.

Most self-moving balls are just balls. The trailing rope is what turns it into something a cat will actually stalk.

Why It Works

It moves like prey.

A cat will stalk something that moves away and changes direction. A ball that just sits there is furniture. This one rolls off on its own, with a tail dragging behind it to make the chase worth starting.

  • Rolls and turns by itself to invite a chase
  • Light enough for a cat to bat around
  • Rope tail, LED, plush and striped styles
  • Three speeds on the rope-tail versions
  • Smart versions add an automatic wake-up mode
  • Supervised play only: put it away afterwards

Every point above comes from this product's own specification.

How to Use

How to use it.

1

Charge and choose a speed

Charge over USB, then pick one of the three speeds. Start slow with a nervous cat and work up.

2

Let it wake them

On the smart versions it wakes when your cat touches it and sleeps when play stops, so it is not running in an empty room.

3

Put it away after

Switch it off and store it out of sight. A toy permanently on the floor stops being interesting within a week. Rotating it keeps it novel.

Ready when you are.

Care & Cleaning

How to keep it in good order, as the manufacturer states it.

Cleaning

Wipe the silicone shell with a damp cloth. There is a motor and a battery inside, so it never goes under a tap.

The rope tail

That part can be washed separately in warm soapy water and air dried.

Charging

USB. Charge it between sessions rather than leaving it plugged in.

Between sessions

Switch it off and put it away. Cats lose interest in a toy that is always on the floor, rotating it in and out keeps it interesting.

Retire it when

The silicone splits or the rope frays through.
